[Memorial incorrectly states Herbert] Driver 786382 RFA died of wounds 9th April 1918 aged 31, husband of Ada Bentley, Park Terrace, Spofforth, son of Charles & Alice Bentley of Otley Road, Harrogate; buried Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension. Born Spofforth, enlisted Harrogate.
Florence Denison
Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) died 31st January 1917 of illness contracted through nursing wounded soldiers in London. Buried in All Saints' Churchyard, Spofforth.

Sergeant 7535 1st Battalion West Yorkshire (POW) killed in action 14th July 1918 aged 35; commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke. A reservist, he was called up at the outbreak of war, reaching France in September 1914. He was awarded the Military Medal in 1917 for conspicuous bravery. He leaves a wife and children. Born Spofforth, enlisted Harrogate.

Private 201358 1/5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (POW) killed accidentally 10th December 1917, buried Reninghelst New Military Cemetery, Poperinge, Belgium, son of Mr and Mrs J.W. Mallorie, Spofforth. A rifle was accidentally discharged near the bed where Mallorie was asleep killing him instantly. Born Starbeck, Harrogate, enlisted Harrogate.
