Built in 1926 the Long Memorial Hall was developed thanks to the generosity of local businessmen to provide a facility for the villagers for social events and social clubs.
Located on Castle Street, Spofforth, HG3 1AP, the Long Memorial Hall is perfect for special events, celebration parties, Children’s parties (with room for a Bouncy Castle!) and social fund-raising gatherings, and for groups such as pilates, line-dancing, sewing groups, dog training classes, pre-school groups. The maximum for a theatre production with theatre style seating is 120 guests and for sit-down functions – dinners, buffets etc. is 80 guests.
It has a lovely oak-sprung floor, and also a full stage for theatre productions, pantomimes etc. A new up to date kitchen was installed to serve the hall with freezer, fridge, wine/beer fridge, two ovens, microwave, dishwasher and is fully fitted with crockery and cutlery for over eighty guests. There are seats for 100 and tables for up to 80 guests.
The kitchen is linked to the Hall with a shuttered serving hatch so perfect for food preparation – ready when you are!
The Snooker Club which leads to the stage can be hired separately to offer a private bar ideal for the service of buffets and drinks with wooden covers for the tables to protect the cloth.
There are toilet provisions for ladies and gentlemen and access to the hall via a stairlift for a fully accessible cloakroom.
